"Maeldryn is a kingdom of practical chivalry. The native warrior culture is quite similar to that of Verelyn, but the ideals of romance and jousts are few and far between within Maeldryn. Instead it is far more about their martial prowess, being more married to the concept of strength than love. This is of course due to the constant perils that occur within Maeldryn, constantly dealing with everconstant storms and rain. Maeldryn has seen the rise and fall of three kings within the past twenty years. Starting with House Crakenorn and the legendary warrior King Beorwulf, to then that of House ... with King Arion whom died of old age and then that of his son Dedric, who was killed in rebellion. While the high lords decide upon a new king, that of Lord Reginald Bastion currently holds the throne as regent, a wish from King Dedric that all respected."
